Rats are the Champions

Yes it’s true. We won tonight at Lauder against Kelso by 13890 to 12950. Some weird splits led to a lot of contracts falling, no big slam hands but diligent ratplay was enough to chalk up a slender but three-pointer triumph in our final match of what has been an astonishing season. All hail Rats!

Holiday Time

Rats are resting up/ partying/ getting drunk or whatever Rats do over the festive season. Have a good one!

Back on January 11th for our next league match, Carlton Camden providing the opposition. By then of course, we will also know if we have to face them again in the Cup – they play their 2nd round match against Peebles on January 4th, so I’ll be on the hunt for dates shortly after that.

Rats cruise past Comiston in Cup

We had our first cup match of the season at the Carlton.

COMISTON 17940 RATS 18430

An excellent result (despite a rather iffy slam bid twice against us!) and we move smoothly on to the Quarter Finals where we will meet either Carlton Camden or Peebles, who play on 4th January. No handicap for that match since both are also in Div 4. In a potential repeat of the usual January double header, we are due to play Camden on the 11th in the league in our next match. Peebles of course we’ve already beaten in the league this year in a close encounter.

Comiston had 1200 of a start.
